Comprehensive Full Home Refurbishments in Coventry and Warwickshire
Swift Build Coventry Ltd provides full refurbishments, including period properties. Based in Kenilworth, we work with homeowners to discuss the scope, budget and practical requirements of updating their property. Cameron Swift manages the build and coordinates the relevant partner trades.
Director and project manager Cameron Swift leads our in-house team of one carpenter and two skilled labourers. Our wider partner network includes architects, designers, a quantity surveyor, plumbers, electricians, gas engineers and plasterers. Electrical and gas work is carried out and certified by registered partner trades, such as NICEIC/NAPIT-registered electricians and Gas Safe registered engineers.
Clients receive a contract, programme of works, payment schedule and insurance documents. We work with our own quantity surveyor on cost planning and generally take on projects from £5,000 upwards. We manage building control inspections and sign-off for the agreed work.
We discuss practical arrangements for working in your property as part of project planning. Cameron Swift coordinates the build and partner trades. We do not offer a written workmanship guarantee, but we always come back to put things right if an issue arises.

Get it wrong and it costs you
The Challenges of Full-Scale Home Renovation
Refurbishing a home, especially an older or period property, presents unique technical and logistical risks that require expert management.
Unforeseen Structural Issues
Opening up an older property can reveal issues that affect the scope, cost or programme. We discuss these with you and coordinate partner professionals where advice is needed. Subsidence and underpinning are not services we provide; those require a specialist.
Poorly Coordinated Trades and Scheduling
Cameron Swift coordinates the sequence of work and partner trade visits using a programme of works. This helps plan progress, although site conditions and changes to the scope can affect timings.
Inaccurate Cost Projections
Our quantity surveyor supports cost planning for the agreed scope. We provide a quotation and payment schedule to help you understand the proposed costs. Unexpected conditions and changes to the work may affect the budget.
Non-Compliance with Modern Building Regulations
The requirements for a refurbishment depend on the proposed work. We manage building control inspections and sign-off. Registered partner trades carry out electrical and gas work and provide the relevant certification.
Disruption and Ineffective Site Management
Refurbishment work can disrupt day-to-day life. We discuss access, use of the property and working arrangements during planning, with the aim of reducing disruption where possible.
Our process
Clear steps. No guesswork.
- 01
Initial Enquiry and Vision Discussion
Contact us to discuss your refurbishment goals, the property and your intended scope. We provide an initial budget cost before progressing to a site visit and detailed cost planning.
- 02
Free Site Visit and Detailed Assessment
Our site visits are free. We discuss the condition of the property, the proposed work and practical considerations. Where specialist assessment is needed, we can discuss the next steps with the relevant partner professionals.
- 03
Cost Planning and Technical Quotation
Our quantity surveyor helps prepare a cost plan, which informs the quotation and payment schedule. Partner architects and designers can help with plans, or we can price the work from your own drawings.
- 04
Contract, Documentation, and Scheduling
Clients receive a contract, payment schedule, programme of works and insurance documents. We hold public and employers’ liability insurance; the documents set out the scope of cover.
- 05
Site Management and Trade Coordination
Cameron Swift manages the build, coordinating our one carpenter and two skilled labourers with the wider partner network. Registered partner trades handle electrical and gas work. We manage building control inspections as the work progresses.
- 06
Completion, Certification, and Handover
We manage the final building control inspection and sign-off process and coordinate relevant documents from registered partner trades. We discuss the completed work and any concerns with you at handover.

Why homeowners choose Swift Build
Professional Project Management
Cameron Swift is your project manager and coordinates the build and trades. A programme of works gives you a basis for discussing planned progress and any changes.
Accurate and Transparent Budgeting
Cost planning by our quantity surveyor helps you understand the proposed scope and expenditure. A quotation and payment schedule set out the financial commitment, subject to agreed changes and site conditions.
Respect for Architectural Heritage
Our refurbishment work includes period properties. We discuss the original features you wish to retain and coordinate partner architects, designers and trades where their input is needed.
Access to Vetted Specialist Trades
Our wider network includes architects, designers, a quantity surveyor, plumbers, electricians, gas engineers and plasterers. Registered partner trades are responsible for electrical and gas work and its relevant certification.
Regulatory and Legal Compliance
We manage building control inspections and sign-off for the agreed refurbishment work, coordinating the relevant partner professionals and trades.
Planning for Disruption
We discuss access and use of the property during the build. Practical arrangements depend on the scope, and some projects may require you to move out while work is underway.
Technical Standards for Full Refurbishments
Structural Alterations
Our completed work includes load-bearing wall removal and steel installation. Where structural design advice is required for a refurbishment, we coordinate with partner engineers. We do not provide an in-house structural engineering service.
The extent of structural work depends on the property and agreed design. We manage building control inspections and discuss any issues revealed during the build. Subsidence and underpinning require a specialist and are not services we provide.
System Modernisation and Integration
Electrical and gas work is carried out by registered partner trades, such as NICEIC/NAPIT-registered electricians and Gas Safe registered engineers. They assess the requirements for their work and provide the relevant certification.
Changes to plumbing, heating and electrical systems depend on the agreed refurbishment scope. Cameron Swift coordinates these partner trades with the rest of the build.
Internal Finishing and Period Preservation
Our in-house carpenter works alongside partner trades on the refurbishment. We discuss the internal finishes and any original features you wish to retain as part of the agreed scope.
Plastering is coordinated through partner plasterers rather than an in-house plastering team. The materials and finishes depend on the agreed design and property.
Situational Logistics and Site Management
Cameron Swift coordinates the programme of works and trade visits. We discuss access, deliveries and practical arrangements for the property during project planning.
The level of disruption depends on the scope and condition of the property. We discuss how the work will affect your use of the building and any arrangements needed before starting.
Residential Refurbishment vs Commercial Projects
We work with domestic and commercial clients. Our refurbishment process includes cost planning, a programme of works and project management by Cameron Swift.
A planned programme and cost plan help you understand the proposed schedule and budget. Site conditions and scope changes can affect both, so these are discussed as the work progresses.
